A 64-year-old motorist sustained injuries after a banner put up for the release of Jana Nayagan, movie featuring Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam founder Vijay, fell on him while he was riding his bike near Ariankuppam on Wednesday night. 

According to the police, the injured Dhanasekaran, a retired government servant, lost control of the two-wheeler he was riding when the banner fell over him. In the impact, he was thrown into a drainage channel on the roadside. Dhanasekaran was immediately rushed to the government hospital here but was later shifted to a private hospital in Chennai after his health condition worsened, the police said. 

The Ariankuppam police have registered a case and arrested a TVK functionary and two of the actor’s fans in the incident.
