Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the BJP’s booth level workers through video conferencing on Monday as part of the preparations for the April 9 polls to the 30-member Puducherry Legislative Assembly. The BJP is contesting 10 seats, one more than the last Assembly elections, in alliance with the AINRC, AIADMK and LJK in the Union Territory. While BJP’s senior partner in the NDA alliance, the AINRC headed by Chief Minister N Rangasamy, is contesting 16 seats, its junior partners the AIADMK and LJK are contesting 2 seats each. Mr Modi will be interacting with the workers of the ten constituencies that the BJP has fielded candidates. During Assembly elections, the Prime Minister makes it a point to interact with booth level workers in States. The programme for UT has been titled ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvaad – Puducherry,’ said a party functionary. “It will be an opportunity for karyakartas to interact directly with the Prime Minister and share their ideas for a stronger Puducherry. Strong booth level work is the hallmark of BJP in all elections,” he said. Meanwhile, preparations are on for the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah for campaigning in Puducherry on April 6.
