Minor boy beaten to death at Jayankondam

A 17-year-old boy was beaten to death allegedly by his friends near Uyyakondan Lake at Jayankondam on Tuesday.

The boy was identified as R. Hariharan, a school dropout, of the State Bank of India Colony in Jayankondam.

According to sources, he went to the lake area along with three of his friends. They attacked Hariharan with logs after heated arguments over the monetary dispute. He died on the spot. The Jayankondam rushed to the spot and sent his body for post-mortem examination. A murder case has been registered. Three persons, all of them aged 17, were detained for questioning.
