Minor boy assaulted by juvenile dies

A 14-year-old boy died after he was allegedly assaulted by another minor boy while they were playing volleyball on Thursday night at Nallavannipatti village in Pulivalam police station limits in the district. The victim was a Class VIII student of a government school at Karattampatti.

The police have detained a 15-year-old boy — a Class IX student of another government school in connection with the crime. The police said the two boys hailing from the same village were playing near a temple when they started fighting.
