Minister hands over ₹6 lakh to custodial death victim’s family in Sivaganga

Minister for Co-operation K.R. Periakaruppan handed over ₹6 lakh in relief assistance to the family of R. Akash Delison, who died of alleged custodial torture by Manamadurai police.

The youth was picked up in a case involving the hacking of two labourers on the night of March 5 in Krishnarajapuram in Sivaganga district along with his associate Guna. Akash later died. Police claimed he sustained a leg fracture while attempting to escape and died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
