Mr. Janardhan Reddy was in Koilkuntla as part of ‘Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra’ initiative and took part in various programmes. He also chaired the government hospital development committee meeting on Saturday. When the hospital authorities highlighted the lack of infrastructure, medical equipment, and a water plant, Mr Janardhan Reddy promised government support and announced he would install a water plant at his own expense. The Minister also reacted positively to calls for a new post-mortem room. He inaugurated a new casualty ward and operation theatre in the hospital. Mr. Janardhan Reddy went around the hospital, inspected the sanitation conditions in the premises, and interacted with the patients in the wards. He enquired about the sanitation conditions and medical services in the hospital from the patients, while also questioning the authorities on the bio-medical waste management. Earlier, Mr. Janardhan Reddy participated in the ‘Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra’ programme, joining a human chain of students, teachers, government officials, and locals to raise awareness on dangers of plastic and the benefits of planting trees. He distributed separate wet and dry waste bins to local traders and urged them to cooperate with the plastic ban. Mr. Janardhan Reddy also sought the cooperation of the people in making Andhra Pradesh a plastic-free State. He urged people not to dump garbage, as it causes overflowing, and asked them to use the door-to-door garbage collection service instead. The Minister also inaugurated a free mineral water plant in Santapeta area of Koilkuntla. He said the water plants installed earlier were not functioning properly and assured to set up more in the town.
