Oppressive humidity has made life difficult in the coastal districts of Kerala, with residents reporting high levels of discomfort during peak hours of the day, even though temperatures ranged between 36°C and 40°C.

Palakkad recorded the highest temperature of the season on Friday (April 10, 2026) at 40.1°C, which was 3.4°C higher than the long-period average for the region. Punalur in Kollam recorded the second-highest temperature at 39.8°C, around 4.5°C above the average seasonal temperature.
