MANJUNATH Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has identified five acres in Bondanthila village, Mangaluru taluk to build shelter for stray dogs, its Administrator H. V. Darshan said on Thursday. Presenting the corporation’s Budget for 2026-27, he said that the civic body has earmarked ₹2 crore for the shelter in the Budget. The shelter will be managed either by any non-government organisation or private agencies. The shelter is meant for rehabilitating street dogs as per the order of the Supreme Court.
