Devotees thronged the Vaithikuppam Beach to offer prayers to deities brought from several temples for ‘Theerthavari’ rituals. The deities of important temples in Puducherry and neighbouring districts of Tamil Nadu were brought to Vaithikuppam for performing the ceremonial ablution. People also lined up on the streets of Puducherry to offer prayers when the deities were brought in procession to the seashore.
