Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Maruti Suzuki) said it had commenced deliveries of the e VITARA at an introductory price of ₹10.99 lakh plus battery EMI of ₹3.99/km.

The e Vitara is available in two battery options – 61kWh and 49kWh – with a driving range of up to 543 km.  The Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is available in two battery packs, and the highest range is 543 km in one charge, the company said. The company has laid an elaborate charging infrastructure across the country to address the range anxiety in the mind of it’s customers.

It wants to replicate the success it has achieved in the ICE segment.

“Forty-Five years back in the same month Maruti Suzuki had embarked on a journey to put India on the wheels. This year in the same month we are embarking on a journey of transformation [with EVs],” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd over a conference call.

Stating that today the penetration of electric vehicles is only 4 to 5% of the entire passenger vehicle annual sales in the country, he said with the e VITARA, time has come for the market to take exponential leap.

“Maruti Suzuki’s EV strategy has been developed to ensure that the e VITARA becomes the primary EV choice for customers,” Mr Banerjee said.

“The e VITARA offers a commendable driving range of over 543 km, supported by ‘e for me’ charging ecosystem that mirrors the reliability our customers have trusted for decades. With over 1,500 EV-ready service centres, specially trained NEXA EV relationship managers and dedicated charging managers, the e VITARA offers complete peace-of-mind,” he said.

“We are also introducing attractive flexible ownership plans with BaaS, alongside exclusive benefits for early adopters that make the e VITARA an irresistible proposition,” he added.

The e VITARA is being offered with assured buy back plans.

It is available with 61kWh and 49kWh battery pack options, backed by an 8-year or 1 60 000 km warranty (whichever is earlier).

Customers can book the e VITARA at NEXA showrooms or by visiting the NEXA website https://www.nexaexperience.com/ebook, with an initial payment of ₹ 21 000.

Every e VITARA owner will receive a complimentary 7.4 kW AC Wall Box Charger along with installation ensuring effortless charging at home, the company said.

They can avail one-year complementary charging through ‘e for me’ app at Maruti Suzuki dealer locations for early adopters of e VITARA.

The introductory offer is valid till 31st March, 2026.

Amidst production constraints deliveries are expected to be delayed till July this year when the company will have additional assembly lines.
