Home Minister Anitha expressed deep shock over the horrific road accident that took place at Rayavaram near Markapuram district on Thursday (March 26, 2026) morning. She conveyed her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.

As soon as the Minister come to know about the accident, she left Vijayawada and reached the accident site. She spoke to the District Collector and Superintendent of Police, and inquired about the details. She suggested to take strict security measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Along with State Transport, Youth and Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Ms. Anitha visited the injured victims at Markapuram Government Hospital. They inquired about the health condition of the victims from the doctors. They assured that the government will stand by them.

“Deeply saddened by the fact that many people were burnt alive in this accident. It is extremely unfortunate incident,” B.C. Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Roads & Buildings (R&B), said, directing the district authorities to intensify relief efforts for the victims at the scene.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayana spoke to district officials, who have informed him that the residents of SPSR Nellore district were involved in the accident. He instructed to provide better medical treatment to the injured.

Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy directed the district authorities to thoroughly investigate the causes of the accident and submit a report. He suggested to take strict security measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar described the loss of lives of the passengers in the accident was extremely heartbreaking. Immediately after the incident, he spoke with concerned officials and local MLA Kandula Narayana Reddy over the phone to review the situation.

He directed the authorities to ensure that the injured are shifted to hospitals promptly and provided with the best possible medical care. He conveyed his profound condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, and wished speedy recovery of those injured in the tragic incident.

Social Welfare Minister Dr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said, “The fact that 13 passengers were burnt alive in the bus has deeply shaken my mind. My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. I am praying to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
