A file photo of Mangaluru District Prison. The Mangaluru District Prison’s kitchen, which is serving around 400 inmates, is now being run with available stock of commercial gas cylinders. Prison Superintendent Sharanabasappa said, on an average, two cylinders are required per day for cooking food to the inmates and the prison staff. The prison maintains a stock of 15 cylinders.
