The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Basavaraj, has convicted a 52-year-old T.P.Farooq, a resident of Bunder in Mangaluru, for possessing and selling over 1 kg of cannabis. According to the chargesheet, a team of District Crime Intelligence Bureau, on a tip off about sale of cannabis, found a car parked near Melkar Bus stand in Bantwal Town police station limits on November 10, 2020. On search, Farooq was found possessing 60 grams of cannabis. The other accused, Sagar Singh, a resident of Nepal, was found possessing 45 grams of cannabis. The police found a bag containing 1.375 kg of cannabis in the car.
