Experts of Pulikulam Cattle Research Station at Manamadurai in Sivaganga district informed public and farmers to make use of the government facility operating under Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) to get trained for livestock management, preservation of indigenous breeds, sustainable fodder production, and organic manure techniques like vermicomposting. V. Palanichamy, Professor and Head of the facility, stated that the centre primarily focuses on reviving the declining population of Pulikulam cattle breed. He noted that it is one of the Tamil Nadu’s most prominent indigenous breeds, traditionally raised in large herds across the southern districts of Sivaganga, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Ramanathapuram.
