A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death in a crowded super market area in the city on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Sharanabasappa Gouli, 35, a resident of Gazipur. According to the police, Gouli, who was working at a mobile phone shop, was standing in a parking area of a bar and restaurant in the super market locality when unidentified assailants attacked him with a knife and fled the spot. The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. Police Commissioner S.D. Sharanappa, Assistant Commissioner of Police Shivanagouda Patil, and other personnel from the Brahmapur Police Station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered, and a probe launched.
