A 30-year-old man who was stabbed in the stomach by his friend following an argument in Tiruvottiyur on Tuesday morning, succumbed to injuries in the evening. The victim has been identified as Vinoth, a resident of Mattu Mandai Street in Thiruvottiyur, who worked at a private company. Police said on Tuesday morning, he was riding a motorbike with his colleague Jayanthan, 30, towards Kaladipet. During the ride, they had an argument over a petty issue. They stopped the bike and a scuffle ensued. Jayanthan stabbed Vinoth in the stomach with a knife and fled. Vinoth collapsed. Passersby alerted Thiruvottiyur police who shifted him to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in an ambulance. Vinoth succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday evening. Police examined CCTV footage from the scene and are searching for Jayanthan, who is on the run.
