A 38-year-old man was killed on Wednesday (January 14, 2026) after a kite string entangled around his neck while he was riding a motorcycle in Sangareddy district.

The deceased was identified as Avadhesh Kumar, a native of Lakhimpur district in Uttar Pradesh. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter, all of whom were at work in field at the time of the incident.

According to Sangareddy Rural police, the incident was reported around 1.30 p.m. at Fasalwadi village when Kumar was going to Sangareddy town to purchase vegetables. “While he was travelling on his bike, a kite string got entangled around his neck, causing fatal injuries. He died on the spot,” police said.

Kumar was part of a group of 16 people who had arrived in Sangareddy earlier in the day in search of work. On receiving information, police rushed to the scene and recovered the kite thread from the location.

The body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem. A case was registered in connection with the incident and a probe is on.
