Kommineni Narasimha Rao Chowdhury | Photo Credit: By Arrangement A 48-year-old man was found dead on a road in Kukatpally on Sunday, February 22, 2026, after allegedly collapsing and sustaining a severe head injury outside a gold shop. The deceased was identified as Kommineni Narasimha Rao Chowdhury, a native of Tallada in Khammam district, who had been residing alone in Kukatpally. Following an emergency call around noon, the Kukatpally police rushed to the spot near Sri Sairam Gold Shop and confirmed the identity of the deceased. Preliminary probe indicates that he had consumed alcohol late on Saturday night and was sleeping outside the shop. Around 8.30 a.m. on Sunday, he is believed to have woken up and sat on the roadside. While seated, he allegedly fell backwards, hitting his head on the ground. A case has been registered based on a complaint lodged by his relatives.
