Security personnel at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru stumbled on another ‘money bag’ incident after a man was found carrying ₹6 lakh in cash while attempting to enter the premises.

According to police, the cash was discovered during a routine check of bags at the entry point. Officials immediately stopped the man and questioned him, stating that carrying such a large amount of cash inside the premises was not permitted.

During questioning, the man claimed that he had come to collect a letterhead from an MLA. He told police that his relative was unwell and admitted to a hospital, and that he had brought the cash for medical expenses, and wanted to meet the MLA to get a recommendation letter to reduce the bill amount.

Police detained the man and took him to the office of ACP, Vidhana Soudha Security, for further questioning. After verifying his explanation, the police reportedly released him and returned the money.

The incident comes amid heightened vigilance at Vidhana Soudha following similar cases in the past.
