A 46-year-old man died after allegedly coming into contact with an electrified snare laid by poachers in a forest area near Pyarampeta village in Tharigonda panchayat of Gurramkonda mandal in Annamayya district. The incident came to light on Sunday morning. Villagers said the victim was last seen late on Saturday night, indicating that the death might have occurred during those hours. The deceased was identified as Subrahmanyam Yadav, a resident of Valmikipuram mandal. According to preliminary information, poachers had set up an electric trap to hunt wild boars and antelopes. Yadav is believed to have accidentally touched the live wire and died on the spot. Police said that, in an attempt to cover up the incident, those involved allegedly shifted the body from the forest area and dumped it in a nearby paddy field to make it appear as an accidental death.
