Makkan Kumar. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement A 22-year-old migrant worker from Bihar was arrested after he climbed onto the roof of Chalukya Express train that halted at Katpadi railway station in Vellore. Police said that the migrant worker was identified as S. Makkan Kumar. Initial inquiry revealed that the train halted at the fourth platform of the railway station around 1 a.m and commuters were busy boarding the train. Police said a few commuters noticed Kumar, who climbed onto the train engine. Immediately, they alerted railway officials, who rushed to the spot along with RPF and GRP personnel. Power supply of the high-tension overhead cables was stopped to prevent any untoward incidents. After continuous talks, the police managed to rescue the migrant worker from the train safely. The train services resumed after some delay. A case was registered. A probe is under way.
