A 29-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and his shop damaged at Marina Beach after he refused to pay a weekly fee demanded by members of a traders’ association on Friday night. Police identified the victim as Subhash, 29, a resident of MKB Nagar, who assists his father in running a textile stall set up as a makeshift structure on the beach.
