A male elephant was electrocuted after it got trapped in a high-voltage electric fence allegedly set up around a farmer’s field at Kadaganalli village in the Kadambur hills on Thursday (March 5, 2026). According to forest department sources, the village is located adjacent to the forest area in the Kadambur hill region. A farmer, Puttusamy, had reportedly installed an electric fence around his agricultural field to protect crops from wild elephants. On Thursday morning, a male elephant that had come out of the nearby forest area came into contact with the electric fence erected around the field and was electrocuted on the spot.
