Kannan Pattambi, Malayalam actor and production executive, passed away at a private hospital in Kozhikode city in Kerala late Sunday night (January 4, 2025). He was 61. He died while undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments. Kannan Pattambi was the brother of actor and filmmaker Major Ravi. He had been an active presence in the Malayalam film industry for years. He also acted in numerous television serials, earning recognition for his supporting roles. His major film appearances include Pulimurugan, Ananthabhadram, Odiyan, Keerthichakra, Vettam, Crazy Gopalan, Kandahar and 12th Man. Apart from his acting career, Kannan Pattambi worked extensively behind the scenes as a production controller and executive producer. He was associated with several known filmmakers, including Shaji Kailas, V.K. Prakash and Santosh Sivan. His funeral is set to be be held near his house at Njangattiri, near Pattambi, on Monday evening.
