Ravi, BJP MLC. Speaking at the Mahavir Jayanthi programme organised in Chikkamagaluru on Monday (March 30), Mr. Ravi said Mahavir did not set out to conquer the world but conquered himself and became ‘Jitendriya’. He highlighted that true religion is about duty and righteousness, and it can never promote violence. India, he said, gave the world ideals of non-violence, peace, and the vision that the entire universe is one family. “We recognise the presence of God everywhere. This thought and philosophy can bring lasting peace to the world,” he observed.
