Mahasivaratri celebrations across Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, and Chittoor districts concluded peacefully by early Monday. The police made extensive security arrangements, followed by coordinated planning with the district administration for the smooth conduct of the events. In Sri Sathya Sai district, the annual Brahmotsavams of Kati Koteswara Swamy temple in Tadimarri mandal ended on a peaceful note. The Mahasivaratri celebrations were reported peaceful, with thousands of devotees thronging the famous Veerabadra Swamy temple at Lepakshi, the Hemavathi and Timmamma Marrimanu temples. Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar supervised advance preparations, including a field inspection of the temple two days prior to the festival and coordination meetings with Police, Revenue, and Endowments officials. “Anticipating heavy pilgrim turnout, we deployed large contingents, conducted route marches with Vajra vehicles, and strengthened surveillance around the temple and surrounding villages. Crowd regulation, traffic diversions, and basic amenities for devotees were ensured through inter-departmental coordination,” the SP told the media, here on Monday. In Annamayya district, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli told the media that elaborate security arrangements were made at all prominent Siva temples in view of the festive rush. Police personnel were stationed at temple premises to streamline queue lines, regulate vehicular movement, and manage parking facilities. Peaceful celebrations were reported at major worshipping centres in Rayachoti, Tamballapalle, and Madanapalle. In Chittoor district, the police made security arrangements at Moghileswara Swamy temple near Bangarupalem and at Kaigal waterfalls near V. Kota.
