Though hostels of major education institutes in Mangaluru and Udupi have not faced dearth in the supply of cooking gas (LPG) cylinders, some of them have modified their food menu to save gas. Yet, those managing the hostels are apprehensive about uninterrupted supply continuing after a week.

At the time of crisis, Tejaswini Ananthkumar, Managing Trustee, Adamya Chetana which serves mid-day meals to thousands of school children daily, took to social media on Wednesday, stressing on the need to go for biofuel with “no-LPG kitchen”.
