While large hotel chains in the city are managing with piped gas connections, medium and small-scale eateries have been hit the hardest. In an attempt to keep their kitchens running, many restaurants have turned to alternatives such as kerosene stoves, induction cooktops, and even wood-fired cooking amid what hoteliers describe as a near-total shortage of commercial LPG cylinders.
