R “You are the boss for your career path,” T. Thyagarajan, pro-vice chancellor, VIT Chennai, told students participating in The Hindu Education Plus “Career Counselling Fair’26” presented by VIT Chennai, on Saturday. Speaking on “Default Life to Dream Life: Crafting a Career That’s Uniquely Yours”, he emphasised on the importance of a student’s interest in deciding what to study. Next is understanding the eligibility for the course followed by selection of institutions and career options. Teachers, infrastructure, recognition, research and holistic development of students are among the factors to be looked for in institutions, he said.
