Lokesh to appear for cross-examination in defamation case against ‘Sakshi’ on January 7

IT and HRD  Minister and TDP National general secretary Nara Lokesh will appear before the 12th Additional District Judge Court in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday (January 7) for cross-examination in a defamation case he filed against ‘Sakshi’ daily.

The case pertains to alleged false and defamatory report published in the daily on October 22, 2019.

Mr. Lokesh contended that the report was based on fabricated facts and published with the deliberate intention of damaging his reputation.

This would be the third round of cross-examination in the case. Two earlier rounds of cross-examination had already been completed. Mr. Lokesh was personally attending the proceedings.

As per the petition filed by Mr. Lokesh, the newspaper had allegedly published false claims suggesting his presence in Visakhapatnam on specific dates, while he was not in the city at all during that period. He had stated before the court that expenses incurred for official guests invited by the government were wrongly attributed to him in order to malign his image.

Senior advocates Doddala Koteswara Rao and S.V. Ramana are representing Mr. Lokesh in the case.
