Satyanarayana, an executive engineer of Hassan City Corporation, at Rakshanapuram near M.G. Road around 5.30 a.m. The entrance on the ground floor that leads to his house on the first floor of the building was locked. The officials called up the engineer, but there was no response. However, the lights inside in the house were switched on momentarily, making it clear that someone was inside. However, despite their efforts, the door to the house was not opened. The team called out to the engineer repeatedly, but in vain. The team then managed to climb to the balcony on the first floor, but that was as far as they could get. Sources in the team believe that the engineer was not at him. Only his son was at home. Unaware of the Lokayukta team waiting outside, and probably out of fear, he did not open the door. Only when one of his aunts reached the place did the boy respond. The team managed to enter the house around 8.30 a.m. The raid was part of a Lokayukta Police initiative at different places in Karnataka.
