‘Local Times’: Prime Video sets premiere date for the Tamil comedy-drama series

On March 6, 2026, streaming service Prime Video announced the premiere date of the upcoming Tamil comedy-drama series, Local Times. It will be released on the platform on March 13.

Directed by Naveen George Thomas, the show stars Rishikanth, Abdool Lee, Maurish Dass, Adwitha Arumugam, R. Pandiarajan, Chinni Jayanth, Rini, and Nandhitha Sreekumar in pivotal roles.

The trailer of the show was unveiled by the makers. The series tells the story of four friends—Veera, Azhagu, Valli, and Muthu, who are determined to keep the legacy alive of Namma Seidhi, a once-respected regional newspaper owned by Veera’s grandfather. The trailer offers a glimpse into the chaotic lives of this motley crew, their hilarious misadventures, emotional clashes, unexpected wins, a powerful nemesis who is hellbent on taking them down, and their admirable bond of friendship that refuses to collapse, even when everything else does.

The show is created by Abbhinav Kastura, along with Praveen Muthurangan, Satwik Gade, Thomas Manuel, and Visvaksen P. Speaking about it, Abbhinav and Praveen said in a statement, “Local Times is a simple, unwind watch. It’s a light-footed comedy set in familiar spaces: a small office, big dreams, bruised egos, and friendships that survive chaos. The show sits comfortably between drama and comedy.
