All toddy shops, wine shops, bars attached to restaurants and military canteens within the Muduchinthalapally Municipality limits will remain closed from 5 p.m. on February 9 to 5 p.m. on February 11, in view of polling for the second ordinary elections to municipalities and municipal corporations scheduled on February 11. The order was issued by Malkajgiri Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty under Section 20 of the Telangana Excise Act, 1968. In addition to the polling period closure, all such establishments will also remain shut from 6 a.m. on February 13 until the completion of counting and declaration of results. The closure applies to all toddy and wine shops, bars attached to restaurants, military canteens, including bars in star hotels and registered clubs, located within the Muduchinthalapally Municipality limits under the jurisdiction of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate. According to the notification, the restrictions have been imposed to maintain public peace and tranquillity during polling and counting. The police have directed that the notification be given wide publicity through leading local newspapers for the information of the general public.
