Visit to Hyderabad February 13, 2026, marks the 133rd anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic visit to Hyderabad in 1893, when he delivered his maiden public speech at Mahboob College before leaving for the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago. In his speech, ‘My Mission to the West’, a lecture that was attended by intellectuals, writers, celebrities and residents, he delivered a message of self-confidence, unity of religions, and service to the poor, which remains most relevant in 2026. At a time when society faces divisions and inequalities, his call for universal brotherhood and inclusive development continues to inspire the great nation called India. On this occasion, we must remember his ideals and strive to build a stronger, more harmonious India.
