The leopard that was trapped in a cage at Vithanassery near Nenmara. A leopard was trapped in a cage set for it at Vithanassery near Nenmara on Saturday. A team of forest officers, led by the Nelliyampathy range forest officer, shifted the leopard to the Nelliyampathy forest office. Forest officials said the leopard would be released in Parambikulam after a few days. The trap was installed at Vithanassery after a leopard was spotted on a surveillance camera at Athimattathil Sasi’s house on December 23. The animal was finally caught nearly four weeks later.
