Forest department sources said the animal would be kept under observation for some hours and be safely released back to forest. The leopard, which was spotted in the residential area three days ago, had created a scare among the villagers. Though the RRT carried out intensive searches after the animal was caught on camera, the attempt to tranquillise it had remained unsuccessful. Local farmers complained that the animal attacked domesticated goats in the village. They also claimed that three goats were killed in the leopard attack.
