A four-year-old leopard was killed after reportedly being hit by an unknown vehicle near Gulasinda in Channarayapatna taluk at Hassan district on January 6. Forest Department officials learnt about the incident from locals and rushed to the spot. Hassan Deputy Conservator of Forests Sourabh Kumar told The Hindu that the officers examined the CCTV footage at the toll plaza and a few other places to identify the vehicle that caused the accident. However, the incident occurred at a spot where there were no cameras. The officers conducted the postmortem and registered a case.
