District Collector Sumith Kumar speaks to sugarcane farmers about the dues owned by Netams Sugars Private Limited in Chittoor on Sunday.

District Collector Sumit Kumar on Sunday conducted a review of the pending dues owed by Netams Sugars Private Limited, located in Nindra mandal to farmers of of the Nagari and Satyavedu Assembly constituencies and factory employees. The Collector assured that efforts would be made to secure the payments.

The review meeting was held at the Collectorate, during which officials discussed steps to recover the outstanding amounts and clear the dues to farmers and factory staff at the earliest. The Collector directed officials to initiate necessary legal action through the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in Hyderabad to facilitate recovery of the pending payments.

According to officials, the factory owes about ₹35.92 crore to more than 1,500 farmers for sugarcane supplied to the unit, while nearly ₹13 crore remains pending towards salaries and other dues of factory employees. The factory was closed after the crushing season of 2019-2020.

The Collector instructed all departments concerned to coordinate and expedite the legal process so that the pending amounts could be recovered and paid to the farmers and workers without further delay.
