Vast information is available in one’s surroundings, and there is no need for a mobile phone or an internet connection to understand it. Students can learn a lot by simply observing the objects around, said Atul Bhat, solar physics researcher, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Speaking after inaugurating ‘Astronomy Summer Camp 2026’, organised by Alva’s School in Moodbidri on Tuesday (April 7), he said students should not lose their thinking and memory power while using technology. Mr. Bhat noted, “In the past, we remembered many telephone numbers in the absence of mobile phones. These days, due to over-reliance on technology, our memory power is decreasing.”
