With summer setting in and trees beginning to shed heavily, dry leaves are piling up across several neighbourhoods, raising concerns about their disposal and instances of open burning.

Residents say that over the past few days, leaves have either been swept into heaps and left along roadsides or set on fire, often late at night. In parks too, leaves are reportedly being stacked within the premises or pushed outside, raising fears of accidental fires, locals pointed out.
