Image used for representation purpose only. | Photo Credit: File photo The Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., has collected ₹2.53 crore in fines from people travelling without a ticket on its network during the month of January. A release said that KRCL continues to carry out intensive and sustained ticket-checking drives across its network to prevent ticketless and irregular travel, thereby ensuring safe, smooth and comfortable journeys for bona fide passengers. It organised 1,014 special ticket checking drives, detecting 44,736 cases of unauthorised/irregular travellers during the month. Cumulatively, between April 2025 and January 2026, a total of 9,495 special ticket-checking drives were conducted realising ₹22.81 crore fine.
