Ramesh | Photo Credit: By Arrangement A Sub-Inspector of Police posted at Kollur police station in Cyberabad Commissionerate was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday (December 2, 2026) while accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 from a complainant. The accused officer, identified as M. Ramesh, demanded the bribe for deleting the complainant’s name from a crime registered under Section 318 (4) (cheating involving valuable security or property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Essential Commodities Act. According to the ACB, the accused had initially demanded ₹30,000 and had already accepted ₹5,000 on December 17, 2025. Amount of ₹20,000 was recovered from the possession of the officer. The accused was arrested and produced before the Special Court for ACB cases in Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway, while the identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
