Chief Minister M.K. Stalin distributed house pattas to residents in his Kolathur Assembly constituency, in Chennai on Monday

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday (February 23, 2026) said that his Kolathur Assembly constituency in Chennai has become a role model for the entire country. Listing the various welfare and development measures he has undertaken in the constituency over the past five years, Mr. Stalin claimed that many people from North India visited the hospital located in Periyar Nagar and were impressed by its state-of-the-art facilities.

During his visit, Mr. Stalin inaugurated new buildings for the Arulmigu Kabaleeswarar College of Arts and Science under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, constructed at a cost of ₹31.45 crore. He said he was proud of having established such a college and commended HR&CE Minister P.K. Sekarbabu. From the entrance to the classrooms, world-class facilities have been created on the college campus, he added.

Mr. Stalin also inaugurated the Mudhalvar Padaippagam established on the college campus. He underlined the importance of education and urged students to focus on their studies.

He further inaugurated various infrastructure projects undertaken by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) and the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), including a ration shop and an ICDS centre. He also distributed free housing pattas to around 2,000 beneficiaries.

Ministers K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, S. Muthusamy, R. Sakkarapani, P.K. Sekarbabu, Govi. Chezhiaan, and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi; Chennai Mayor R. Priya; MPs Kalanidhi Veeraswamy and R. Girirajan; legislators Thayagam Kavi, A. Vetriazhagan, and Joseph Samuel; and senior officials were also present.
