Amid the debate over summons being issued to voters for hearings under the Special Intensive Revision, Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar also attended a hearing on Saturday. Mr. Kelkar’s name could not be ‘mapped’ (linked) to the 2002 SIR roll, which is being used as the base roll for the current SIR exercise. The CEO attended the hearing before the Electoral Registration officer at the Kowdiar village office on Saturday responding to a notice issued to him. Mr. Kelkar said he presented the required documents at the hearing. ‘Unmapped’ voters in Kerala number 19.32 lakh in all, according to election officials.
