The Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi has unveiled the logo of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK 2026), which will be held from January 25 to February 1. The logo was released at a function at the Akademi by noted stage designer Sujathan on Thursday (January 8, 2026). “This year’s theme, Voices in Silence, reflects the muted cries and suppressed narratives resonating across the world,” organisers said. The logo was designed by Thrissur Ads Creations. Echoing the festival theme, ITFoK 2026 will present nine international theatre productions from eight countries, positioning the stage as a resonant drumbeat breaking silences. Across continents, art continues to amplify the voices of the marginalised and the silenced, even as progress and power structures push many to the fringes. It is these unspoken struggles and suppressed realities that ITFoK seeks to foreground through performance. The festival will open with Frankenstein Project by Argentina’s Luciano Mansour Company. Other international productions include The Last Play in Gaza and Oranges and Stones from Palestine; Hamlet Toilet from Japan; Wow from Slovakia; Dumbling from Armenia; A Scream in the Dark from Brazil; Lucia Joyce – A Small Drama in Motion from Spain; and Romeo and Juliet from Denmark. In all, 23 plays, including nine international productions, will be staged during this year’s edition, as ITFoK transforms its stages into powerful spaces where silenced voices find expression from January 25 onwards.
