The District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) in Kozhikode, Kerala, on Thursday arrested a couple suspected of having key involvement in the inter-State smuggling and sale of synthetic drugs. The suspects, Mohammed Irfan and his wife T.C. Nirfana, were nabbed following a tip-off from another suspect arrested last month with 200 grams of MDMA. Irfan, aka ‘Don’, reportedly supplied synthetic drug to young buyers and students, often at night, with his wife’s involvement. Police sources said the couple used multiple phones and fake IDs to evade detection. They reportedly operated from behind a footwear shop at Kallayi. Police sources said the couple, hailing from Naduvattam, was previously linked to a 2025 narcotics case. Irfan’s two brothers had also been booked for similar drug-related offences, they said.
