So Kerala Blasters will play at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, after all. It had earlier been proposed that Blasters would play its home matches at the Corporation Stadium here; the fixture released by the ISL had also said as much. But the club has announced through a press release that Kochi would continue to host the ISL matches. “Kerala Blasters FC are pleased to confirm that the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will continue to serve as the official home ground of Kerala Blasters FC for the upcoming season,” the release said. “The club remains deeply connected to its passionate supporters who transform the stadium into one of the most vibrant football venues in the country. “The decision reaffirms Kerala Blasters FC’s commitment to its fans, partners, and the wider football community across the state. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium has been the stage for countless memorable moments in the club’s journey, and the team looks forward to creating many more in front of the Yellow Army this season.” Blasters had apparently wanted to play at Kozhikode as a cost-cutting measure. In its first home match at Kochi, Blasters will take on Mumbai City on February 22.
