District Collector Anu Kumari said on Monday that arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the April 9 Assembly polls in Thiruvananthapuram district. The district will have 3,173 polling stations including 440 new ones. There are 124 model polling stations in all. Home-voting facility will be made available to elderly citizens above 85 years old and bedridden patients. There are 24,000 bedridden patients in the district-level electoral roll. Five integrated check posts also have been arranged in the district as part of the elections. Three flying squads each have been deployed in the 14 Assembly constituencies in the district. Candidates can file their nominations till March 23.
