With six days remaining before the Assembly elections, a bicycle rally led by Kasaragod District Collector Arjun Pandian was organised on Thursday (April 2, 2026) to promote green election practices and encourage voter participation.

The rally, ‘Chase the Green Track: Ride with District Collector,’ organised under the District Suchitwa Mission in association with the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign, was flagged off by Mr. Pandian.

He said the initiative aims to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Around 30 members from the Kasaragod Pedallers Cycling Club and Trikaripur Cycling Club participated in the rally. The event began at Kanhangad old bus stand, proceeded via Bekal Fort, and concluded at Bekal beach park.

Managing director of Bekal beach park Anas Mustafa welcomed the participants at the concluding venue. District Suchitwa Mission coordinator P. Jayan delivered the welcome address at the flag-off function. SVEEP nodal officer Ratheesh Pilicode and District Information Officer M. Madhusoodanan also spoke.

The rally formed part of a broader awareness campaign led by the Suchitwa Mission and Kanhangad municipality to promote the message “My Vote, My Pride” and ensure maximum voter turnout.
