Kerala Assembly Elections 2026: Paragliding and parasailing event held at Varkala to promote voter participation

District Collector Anu Kumari and her team took part in a paragliding and parasailing event at Varkala on Sunday as part of the campaign to ensure maximum voter participation in Thiruvananthapuram district in the April 9 Assembly elections.

While the paragliding was conducted from the Varkala cliff, the parasailing event was organised at Papanasam beach. Ms. Kumari urged all eligible voters to exercise their franchise without fail on April 9.

The event was organised as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme of the Election Commission of India.

Meanwhile, the training sessions for polling officials in the district will start on Tuesday. The phase-I randomisation of the officials has been completed, election officials said.
